BuR Chooses OPHEO

The company wants to save ten percent of its fleet costs

Bad Düben-based concrete and recycling company Beton und Recycling GmbH is soon going to control its own fleet with the transport management system OPHEO and the telematics system OPHEO MOBILE from initions integrated therein. The goal of this conversion is to achieve at least ten percent savings in vehicle costs. On the one hand, this effect will be bases on optimized tour planning which leads to shorter legs and a higher capacity utilization. On the other hand, the telemetry data of the trucks in use shall be read out comprehensively and evaluated via the OPHEO PORTAL. This way, Beton und Recycling GmbH wants to analyze driver behavior and improve it with targeted training measures. Apart from looking at diesel consumption, the focus is also on wear and tear values.

The data from the vehicles’ CAN bus system serves as the basis for evaluating driving behavior. The data is read out by the truck boxes installed in the truck for this purpose and sent to OPHEO. In a first step, initions AG will fit the 24 trucks with Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 mobile devices. The scope of delivery also includes truck boxes for connecting the digital tachometer and the CAN bus. Telematics software OPHEO MOBILE is installed on the Samsung tablets as well as the navigation solution “ptv Navigator truck”. Moreover, the OPHEO modules Dispatching Cockpit, Fleet & Personnel and Tariffs are used.

In the selection process of Beton und Recycling GmbH, initions AG was able to prevail against five competitors.”OPHEO covers a very wide range of applications and, thanks to its high degree of flexibility, it also covers the special features of the construction industry and our heterogeneous fleet,” as Plant Manager Marko Schmieder recalls.

Founded in 1997, Bad Düben-based Beton und Recycling GmbH specializes in demolition, waste disposal, construction waste recycling, transportation services, container services and concrete manufacturing. The company operates two concrete mixing plants as well as a recycling plant and has facilities in the German cities of Köthen and Dessau-Roßlau. The company fleet counts 30 trucks, of which 24 trucks are controlled via OPHEO. Fifteen tippers, four ready-mix trucks, two flatbed trailer trucks, one low-loader and two swap-body trucks for construction waste containers will be connected to the OPHEO-System system in the future. Besides Beton und Recycling GmbH, three more construction companies are part of the company group: Bau- und Haustechnik Bad Düben (BHT) specializes in building construction, road construction, civil engineering and building services. AutoPartner Bad Düben GmbH offers services for construction machinery, trucks, cars and steel construction. Bauprofi Bad Düben GmbH, a BHT subsidiary, operates in the building materials trade and construction machinery rental. For more information, please visit www.bur-baddueben.de.
